On Thursday, July 14, I embarked on a spy mission in the splintering heat of Texas to discover and report back all the secrets of rival teams' solar car. On the first night, I got in a car accident and got to ride in the back of a police car. The next morning, I rose and shined and drove to the Texas Motor Speedway for the first time. It was so big! There were two garages for each solar car team to have their own section. Walking around, I picked out teams to talk with and show me around their car. In this manner, I learned a lot about how to resolve issues we were encountering, such as the making of our roll bar. In the afternoon, I visited the spot where JFK was shot and explored the Sixth Floor Museum. The following morning, I returned to the Speedway to continue with my questioning. I talked with the Iron Lions for a long time and the kind members of their team gave me so many tips and advice. That evening, I went to see a rodeo. The next day, I woke early to catch the beginning of the race. It was so cool seeing each team officially drive onto the race track. Let the races begin and best of luck to the 2022 teams! Looking forward to competing next summer.
