We moved on to stations 1 and 2 after completing 3, 4, and 5. Station 1 was an in-depth inspection of our mechanical setup: the CAD, the bolts we use on the car, the driver's compartment, driver safety/visibility, and the dimensions of the car. We missed only one requirement at this station; they asked us to weld another bar onto either side of the car to further protect the driver's head. We completed this right after visiting station 1, and they came over and signed us off immediately. After that was station 2, where our electrical and battery systems were inspected for function and safety. As we predicted, this station was where we encountered some bumps. Nothing we can't fix! We plan to return to the Texas Motor Speedway tomorrow morning and get our electrical systems up to standards before our assigned time for station 6 (endurance), and finally station 7 (road safety). We are on track to potentially finish scrutineering a full day early, so we have a huge cushion for anything that can and will go wrong. The Poly Solar Car Team was the only team in the entire competition to fully complete four stations today.
