Week Three and the Charge Controller Fiasco

While slowly putting together the mechanical workings of our car, our attention turned to its electrical workings. Our four solar panels and charge controller had arrived, joining our four batteries and motor. However, when wiring up our charge controller, we accidentally put the positive battery wire into the negative load terminal!! A huge spark ensued and quickly the fear that we'd blown our charge controller settled like a heavy blanket over our shoulders. Very fortunately, the charge controller proved to have survived when we managed to run our motor from our batteries and solar panels.
